The Electoral Commission of Ghana has stated that an error in one's voter registration slip does not nullify the bearer's eligibility to cast his or her vote.

The slip in question displayed conflicting information, indicating that the individual registered in Kasoa in the Central Region but the district was listed as Ayawaso North, which is in the Greater Accra Region.

A communique released by the Electoral Commission on May , 2024 and signed by the acting Director, Public relations, Mr. Michael Boadu, said the registration slip serves as a reference should a voter request for a replacement in the future.

Portions of the statement read, "The attention of the Electoral Commission has been drawn to a Registration Slip circulating on social media, indicating that the bearer of the Registration Slip registered at Kasoa in the Central Region.

"The Registration Slip however gives the bearer's district as Ayawaso North in the Greater Accra Region.

"This error does not appear on the Applicant's Voter's ID Card. It reflects on the Registration Slip vhich only serves as a reference, should an Applicant seek to replace his/her Voter ID Card."

According to the Commission, the error does not affect the eligibility of the Voter.

The Electoral Commission, therefore, assures the general public of the commission's readiness to deliver on their mandate as they seek to organise a credible, free and fair general elections come December 7 and beyond.

"We entreat citizens to remain steadfast and repose their confidence and trust in the Commission to deliver on its mandate," the commission stated.
