The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reacted to a viral video that emerged, depicting an act of violence involving two students from Adisadel College.
The GES indicated in a press release said it is taking this matter very seriously and is committed to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students across the country.
The statement signed by Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of the Public Relations Unit, GES expressed deep concern and vehemently condemned the barbaric act committed by the individuals involved.
"We commend the school authorities for promptly suspending the alleged perpetrator pending further investigation," the statement read.
Meanwhile, The main perpetrator of the assault will be taking his WASSCE exams at a designated WAEC centre instead of on campus, the management of Adisadel College indicated in another statement.
"The victim will also be sent home but will have to return to the school to write the exams accompanied by a parent or guardian."
This is because he (the victim) failed to report the incident, the school authorities added in the statement.
