A National Emergency Command Centre  has been set up in Accra to enhance the security of the nation through a massive monitoring platform.

It is a nationwide project but the Greater Accra Region is being used as a pilot.

It has, among other facilities, integrated video systems which enable the National Security to monitor places of interest at a command centre.

It will also assist the other security services in their operations to enable them to respond to various threats promptly and ensure the safety of the people.

On Tuesday, President John Mahama visited the centre to inspect the ongoing project.
