GIJ Governing council inaugurated

The governing council of the Ghana Institute of Journalism which will oversee the smooth administration of the school has been inaugurated today September 19 with Professor Kwasi Ansu-Kyeremeh as chairman.

The 11 member council comprises Rector of the Institute, Dr Wilberforce S. Dzisah as member, Government nominee Edwin Amankwah, Government nominee Monica Korkor Bleboo, representative from the Ministry of Education Dr Kweku Rockson, Head of school of communication students UG, Legon, representative from the Academic Board Zakariah Tanko Musah, Convocation Harriet Akua Karikari, Media industry Akwasi Owusu Agyeman, Alumni of the institute, Ajoa Yeboah-Afari and SRC President Martin Ntem Thompson.

GIJ was part of universities in the country which were without governing councils following the change of government.

The nonavailability of the governing councils in the various universities made it difficult for the universities to run smoothly.

GIJ will on Friday 22nd September hold graduation for undergraduate students.
