The Akufo-Addo government has been accused of plagiarising the Ghana @ 60 logo, which the administration unveiled on Thursday.

Some on social media have pointed out several similarities between the Ghana@60 logo and some other pre-existing designs.

A part of the logo appears to be strikingly similar to the "Unity in Diversity" logo as used by UNESCO for one of their International Festival Of Cultural Diversity.

The same image also appears to have been used by the Indian National Youth Organisation.

The new allegations of plagiarism follow the plagiarism of aspects of President Nana Akufo-Addo's inauguration speech, which provoked national outrage.

However, some logo designers have told primenewsghana.com that allegations the logo is plagiarised are unfounded.

According to them, for the allegation to hold, the Ghana @ 60 logo as whole must look like pre-existing designs.

In this, they said the designer merely replicated an already existing idea for a portion of the logo, something they was not unusual in the business of logo designing.

Meanwhile, government says the Ghana @ 60 celebrations will cost $5 million.
