Nana Akufo-Addo has said the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, rejected his appointment at first.

The President told Peace FM that it took the intervention of some persons to convince the Ayawaso Central Lawmaker to accept the job as the Greater Accra Regional Minister.

“Henry Quartey is doing a good job in the country. He wanted to do a different job and I told him this is what he will do. He has proven to be a strong choice and preference. From what he has done everyone has seen he came to work to make Accra and Ghana better,” Nana Akufo-Addo said.

The President also disclosed that he was very impressed by the work of the Regional Minister.

“I’m happy I’m not the only one who has seen his good work. Ghanaians are seeing it. He is doing a good job.”

Henry Quartey has recently been praised by many traditional leaders, politicians, and a lot of Ghanaians for his dedication and contribution in ensuring that Accra and Ghana work again.

The President’s interview forms part of his tour in the Greater Accra Region, and it will bring his nationwide tour to an end.
