The Minister for Gender, Mrs Cynthia Morrison says she cannot give a specific time frame for the passage of the Affirmative Action Bill into law.

According to her, the Affirmative Action Bill has been sent back to Cabinet for further scrutiny.

Affirmative Action Bill is a set of needed actions designed to correct history of systematic discrimination and exclusion of women in the decision-making process. This, when passed into law, will also promote a progressive increase in active participation of women in public life

Some Stakeholders have called on the government to fast track the passage of the Affirmative Action Bill into law. They say when the bill is passed into law it will go a long way to ensure the achievement of gender equality in political, social, economic and educational spheres in society.

Speaking at the Meet the Press Series in Accra today Mrs Morrison stated that the delay of the passage of the bill is as a result of processes instituted to ensure the bill captures the necessary provisions

''We were incorporating our women with disability into the bill. I have given a copy to the leader of Parliament , i have sent a copy to Cabinet and they will review it then it goes to Parliament. The reason I did that was that when the leadership goes through it will be easier for us to pass it when it goes''.

''I can confirm to you that we are really on it but the timeline I cannot give. I don't know whether when it goes to Parliament it will come back since cabinet has not sat on it. It will be wrong for it to stand here to give you a timeline''.

The Minister also condemned the acts of sexual harassment in the video documented by the BBC Africa Eye titled 'Sex for Grades'.
