The High Court in Accra has ordered the Electoral Commission (EC) to collate two outstanding polling station results in the Tema Central Constituency and declare the winner through the commission's returning officer.

That was after Justice Forson Baah Agyapong, upheld a mandamus application filed by Charles Forson, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate in the December 7 elections.

In addition to that, the court has also ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to provide adequate security to help the EC conduct the collation.

The judgment came after the court concluded that the NDC parliamentary candidate, Ebi Bright was illegally declared the winner of the elections since the person who declared her the winner was not the returning officer of the EC at a time when there were two outstanding polling stations to be collated.

The EC is to do that on or before Jan 6, 2025
