Workers of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, PURC, have appealed to President Nana Akufo-Addo to begin his corruption crusade from the commission because it has become a hub of plundering.

The workers under the leadership of Abukari Jabaru have been agitating for the removal of the Executive Secretary Samuel Sarpong and Nana Yaa Jantuah, the Corporate Affairs Director of the commission, whom they have accused of financial impropriety.

The workers on Thursday locked up the office of Mr Sarpong and chased out Ms Jantuah, who unceremoniously came to the office, despite announcing her resignation from the company.

Mr Jabaru accused her of poor human relations, stressing he is not welcome back to the office because there are competent persons who can fit her role.

He said the president needs to investigate the two who turned their offices into a plundering field and misapplied state funds, though he was unable to substantiate his allegations.

‘Who transferred money into his private bank account,” he asked the host when evidence was asked from him.

The workers are said to have locked up members of the board and one of them, Engineer Akuaku has expressed anger at the behaviour of the workers.

He condemned the workers actions and asked them to review their position.
