The Ministry for the Interior, on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council, has lifted the curfews on Saboba and Bimbilla in the Northern region with immediate effect.
The decision follows a significant improvement in the security situation and the genuine commitment of local Chiefs and residents to maintaining peace in the area.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Interior for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubaraka on Monday, February 24.
The government expressed its appreciation to the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and the people of both communities for their efforts in fostering stability.
It also urged residents to continue using peaceful means to resolve disputes and sustain harmony.

The Minister for the Interior on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council has lifted the curfews on Saboba and Bimbilla both in the North East Region with immediate effect.
This has been necessitated by the genuine desire of the Chiefs and people of the area to sustain peace in the area as well as the improvement in the security situation in the area.
Government continues to express its gratitude to the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area and urges them to continue to resort to peaceful means in solving their problems.
