Ghana’s Parliament has appointed Isaac Adongo to chair its Finance Committee.
The member of the Bank of Ghana Board comes to the position with a wealth of experience after serving on the committee for several years.
His vice on the committee is Richard Acheampong, and former finance minister Dr Mohammed Amin Antah is the ranking member of the committee, deputized by Gideon Boako.
The two ranking members will scrutinize various economic-related activities of the government to ensure that the government of Ghana is not shortchanged and the people are given the best.
Additionally, Kwaku Agyemang Kwarteng has been appointed Chairman of the Budget Committee.
Meanwhile, Abena Osei-Asare has been appointed as Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), a crucial body responsible for scrutinizing government financial expenditures and ensuring accountability in the use of public funds. She succeeds James Avedzi, the former Member of Parliament for Ketu North, who previously held the position.
