The sun rose gently over the bustling city of Accra, painting the sky in hues of orange and gold.
It was a day of purpose and unity, as hundreds of students, were drawn from some departments at the University of Ghana together with GIMPA SRC, joined by Security Expert Richard Kumah-Don to be gathered at the Accra Mall at the early hours of today for the much-anticipated peace walk themed "Make Your Voice Count."
The walk, organized by KONRAD ADENAUER STITUNG, a German Political Party Foundation associated with but independent of the center-right Christian Democratic Union (CDU).
It was the aim to inspire peaceful participation and emphasize the importance of every citizen's voice count .
In a conversation with Kumah-Don, he mentioned his participation was to help advocate for a peaceful election as started by KAS and other organizations ahead of 2024 election. He interacted with commuters and some first time voters to "visit the polling with clear intentions of voting for their candidates but not to give room to others and any party to manipulate or use them to against the healths of the election. where he advised that, at the polling station, any suspicious activity should be reported to security agencies present and refrain from attacking or preventing offenders directly, as that happens to be the duty of security and electoral officers deployed.
According to him, after casting your vote and you have no other role to play at the polling station, you need to go on your daily routine or home and come later after voting is over for the remaining processes.
He concluded by urging everyone to reject violence during the election and exercise their democratic rights.
