The immediate past Chief Justice has advised leaders against using their position to amass enormous wealth at the expense of the people they are chosen to lead.

Georgina Theodora Wood says people in public office should rather see it as an opportunity to serve mankind and improve on the lot and wellbeing of the people.

To her, the mark of a good leader is not in the amount of riches acquired, but how much your people have benefited from your leadership and the positive changes brought to society.

She was speaking at a thanksgiving service in her honour on Thursday in Accra.

Georgina Theodora Wood, Ghana’s first female and longest serving Chief Justice retired on the 8th of June after serving for 9 years.
