Mahama swears-in third batch of 14 new ministers

President John Mahama has sworn in the third batch of ministers per Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution.

The brief ceremony at the Jubilee House on Thursday followed their approval by Parliament after a thorough vetting process and extensive debates by the Appointments Committee.

The newly sworn-in ministers include:

  • Dr. Edward Omane Boamah – Minister of Defence
  • Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka – Minister of Interior
  • Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah – Minister of Lands and Natural Resources
  • Naa Momo Lartey – Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection
  • Kenneth Adjei – Minister of Works, Housing, and Water Resources
  • Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum – Minister of State in Charge of Special Initiatives

In addition, eight new regional ministers were also sworn in:

  • Tia Ibrahim – North East Regional Minister
  • Dr. Frank Amoakohene – Ashanti Regional Minister
  • Akamugri Atanga Modestus – Upper East Regional Minister
  • Ali Adolf John – Northern Regional Minister
  • James Gunu – Volta Regional Minister
  • Rita Akosua Awatey – Eastern Regional Minister
  • John Kwadwo Gyapong – Oti Regional Minister
  • Linda Akweley Ocloo – Greater Accra Regional Minister
