Lawyer for seven of the suspects in the Major Mahama trial has dumped his clients leaving them in an anxious search for legal representation.

The seven suspects are part of 14 people who have been put before the High Court in Accra to be tried for murder.

Prime News has learnt that private legal practitioner, George Bernard Shaw, who has since 2017 represented all 14 accused persons today told the court of his inability to continue with the task.

He added that the defence to be put up by each suspect varies significantly hence his decision to withdraw his services.

According to Mr Shaw, He will, however, be representing five of them with Lawyer Augustine Gyamfi representing two, leaving seven suspects without legal representation.

However Trial Judge, Justice Mariama Owusu admonished Lawyer Augustine Gyamfi lawyer George Bernard Shaw to assist the seven persons to secure the services of lawyers.

The Court is expected to set up a jury for the full trial to begin. The case has thus been adjourned to March 5, 2018.

The accused persons are William Baah, the Assemblyman of Denkyira Obuasi, Bernard Asamoah alias Daddy, Kofi Nyarko aka Abortion, Akwasi Baah, Kwame Tuffour, Joseph Appiah Kubi, Micheal Anim and Bismarck Donkor.
Others are John Bosie, Akwasi Baah, Charles Kwaning, Emmanuel Badu, Bismarck Abanga and Kwadwo Anima.
