Deputy National Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Joseph Yamin reckons the ‘Montie 3’ are popular than the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate.
“The prisoners would have even wished that the Montie 3 were released, looking at the number of visits they get is even more than their strength, you see personalities, people with names like the NDC general secretary, party chairman, ministers and influential people all visit them.
“Seriously now the Montie 3 currently are more popular than Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, particularly Mugabe, should he context Akufo Addo in any elections he will beat him†the controversial NDC official pronounced.
The one-time Deputy Regional minister for Ashanti region, contends the three, Alistair Nelson, Godwin Ako Gunn and show host, Salifu Maase have enjoyed nationwide support such that a petition has been forwarded to John Mahama seeking presidential pardon for them.
Although he is yet to visit the three incarcerated men at the Nsawam Prison, Mr. Yamin informed host, Julius Caesar during Abusua FM’s morning show that he shall call on them before they are released.
The ‘Montie 3’ were sentenced to a four-month imprisonment term by the Supreme Court on July 27, 2016, for threatening to kill judges of the court.
