Motor rider remanded over attempted robbery

A Motorbike rider, Hudu Karim has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on charges of conspiracy to commit crime and attempted to rob.

He was said to have conspired with two others now at large and attempted to rob one Lovely Baffoe, at Dansoman Asoredanho, on November 30.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and remanded into police custody by the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh, to reappear on December 20.

Presenting the facts of the case, Police Chief Inspector, Kwabena Adu told the court that, the complainant, Lovely is a trader and lives at Ablekuma, while the accused person Hudu and his accomplices are unemployed and live at Russia, Accra.

He said on November 30, at about 2130, the complainant was walking along the main Dansoman road towards Asaredanho, and on reaching Mawuli Spot Hudu and one of his accomplice Essein, who were on a royal motorbike suddenly pulled her hand bag, which was hanging around her neck.

The prosecution said the complainant fell, hitting her head to the ground while saw the two also fell off down with their motorbike.

Mr Adu told the court that, the complainant shouted for help, but Essein took to his heels while Hudu was arrested by a mob and handed over to the police together with the said motorbike.

In his caution statement, Hudu admitted the offence and told the police that, it was one another boy now at large that gave them the motorbike for the use in the robbery.
