The family of the murdered NPP constituency treasure in Takoradi has offered a GHS50,000 reward for information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
Brother of the deceased Mark Ofori in an interview with Citi FM said they are offering the money to complement the effort of the police.Â
"What we are saying is that we've placed GHS50,000 for anybody who will provide credible information, because you came to the house you didn't pick anything, just killed the person and left.."
Takoradi constituency treasurer for NPP, Mark Ofori was shot dead by some unknown persons. The incident happened on Wednesday in the house of the deceased at Fijai.
The Western Regional NPP Organizer, Abdul Ganiwu who confirmed the development said Mr. Ofori, was very healthy when he attended an orientation of the party on Tuesday.
“We were called that someone had gone to the house and shot him dead…The constituency executives have been to the Effia Nkwanta Hospital where he has been kept. We say condolences to the family and NPP members in Takoradi, Western Region and Ghana as a whole,†Abdul Ganiwu said.
The deceased, who is said to be a Ph.D. candidate is described as “a wonderful person†by Abdul Ganiwu. The Police and other security officials have visited the deceased’s house and commenced investigations.
The Western Regional NPP Organizer, Abdul Ganiwu called on the public to volunteer information and assist the police to ensure that the assailant is arrested and made to face the law.
“The assailant should not go scot-free. He must be arrested and dealt with,†he said. The deceased left behind a wife and three children.
