Human rights lawyer, Francis Xavier Sosu has opined that lawyer Akoto Ampaw is competent to be appointed as the Independent Prosecutor but his association with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) makes him a bad choice.
President Akufo-Addo according reports has settled on lawyer Akoto Ampaw as the first person to fill the position of Independent or Special Prosecutor.
However, Speaking on Rainbow Radio, Francis Xavier Sosu reiterated that lawyer Akoto Ampaw has a faultless legacy in the legal fraternity especially championing human rights campaigns and fair justice, but his appointment as an Independent Prosecutor raises a lot to be issues to be interrogated.
According him, there are some few issues regarding his appointment because some individuals may also raise issues in terms of his works and major cases he has defended in time past whether or not he will be independent.
Lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu admonished that, the nominee Lawyer Akoto Ampaw to justify beyond reasonable doubt that he will prosecute everyone without political colorization.
