The Finance Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has tooled the 6 Infantry Battalion at Kamina Barracks in the Northern Region with two brand new Pick-up vehicles.
The Minister announced this on his official handle on Facebook.
The donation is aimed at supporting the Military in providing security in the northern region especially as the nation prepares for this year’s general elections in December.
The northern region has recorded some pockets of disturbances in recent weeks with the most recent incident recorded at Zogbei in the Mion district over a parcel of land which resulted in the loss of lives and properties.
The swift response of the police and intervention of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) to engage the relevant stakeholders and traditional authorities in Dagbon restored calm in the area.
Therefore, the Military will adequately use the vehicles to complement efforts of the police to maintain law and order in the region.
Dr Adam who is also the Member of Parliament for Karaga constituency in recent months has been supporting various public sector institutions in the North including the Tamale Teaching Hospital to be more efficient and adequately serve the populace.
The Finance Minister also presented another brand new Pick-up vehicle and four new ultrasound machines to the Karaga District Director of Ghana Health Service towards the delivery of quality healthcare in the area and its surrounding environs.
“I toured parts of my constituency where we commenced new projects, inspected ongoing projects and connected with my constituents. I commenced the construction of a STEM JHS and I inspected the Karaga water project and Karaga Town roads” he wrote.
The legislator further announced the distribution of hair dryers to some newly graduated seamstresses in his constituency to support their professional career.
“Thanks to the Chiefs and people of Karaga, DCE, the constituency chairman and all those who provided support towards these projects and programs” Dr Adam applauded.
