Pope John SHS and T.I AMASS, Fomena have been kicked out of the 2018 National Science and Maths Quiz competition by the Koforidua Senior High Technical School(K.S.T.S), Friday, June 22.
 The three schools who participated in the one-eighth session of the 2018 NSMQ were competing to qualify for the next level which is the quarter-final stage.
Pope John SHS, however, received the shock of their lives at the end of the contest when their competitors, K.S.T.S beat them to their game with an 8-point difference although they began in the lead.
At the end of the contest, Koforidua Senior high technical school won with 39 points, while Pope John SHS and T.I AMASS, Fomena scored 31 and 25 points respectively.
K.S.T.S has therefore qualified to compete in the quarter finals stage of the NSMQ against two other winners for today's contest in the one-eighth stage.
The Quarter Finals stage spans from June 28th- June 30, and Semi-Finals on July 2, 2018.
At the quarterfinal stage, each point of the competing schools will be worth Five Ghana cedis (GHS 5) and this will be paid out to each of the three competitors and their teacher.
The Grand Finale of the NSMQ 2018 will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018.
