Paramount Chief of the Nungua Traditional Council, King Dr. Odaifio Welentsi III, has congratulated President elect, Nana Akufo-Addo on his victory after the December 7 elections and asked him to ensure an inclusive government in his administration.

Speaking to the media, over the weekend, Nii Odaifio said, Ghanaians have decided and chosen a leader but government must include everyone to ensure growth and stability.

“The Government must be inclusive, bringing in not only working people but women, minority and young people for their energy and idealism,” he stated.

He added that, “we want to see an economy that works for all not just the one percent and advances new trade policies that create Ghanaian jobs or seeks to make college affordable or rebuild the country’s infrastructure and not policies to try to divide the country up.”

According to him, the staff must be carefully selected from different factions of the political parties to ensure inclusiveness.

As traditional leaders, he said, they are willing to provide support to the new administration to maintain core Ghanaian values.

The mission of the new administration he stressed, should be putting together most highly qualified group of successful people, to implement the change agenda, rebuilding the country with regards to jobs, security and opportunity.

He called for a national unity and asked that differences are put aside for all to work for a common goal of development.

“Ghanaians have to reconcile themselves to the Akufo-Addo Presidency, because he has the ability to govern. The opposition should pledge to give the President-elect the space to put together a government,” he advised.

Government he said, must focus on job creation and provide the opportunity for industrial growth across all sector of the economy.

He is however convinced that the right policies will prevail as both industries and government share the same objective, which is healthy and vibrant Ghanaian economy.

Nii Odaifio said, supporters must desist from attacking each other, as the nation must overcome political differences and find common ground.
