Parliament approves Muntaka, 4 regional ministers

Parliament on Friday, January 24 approved 5 additional ministerial nominees submitted by President John Mahama, moving his administration closer to completing its ministerial team.

This follows a thorough vetting process by the Appointments Committee and debate on the parliamentary floor.

The 5 approved include Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak as Minister for the Interior and four regional ministers.

They are Ali Adolf G. John, Minister for Northern Region, John Kwadwo Gyapong Minister for Oti Region, James Gunu minister for Volta Region and Mrs Rita Akosua Awatey, Minister for Eastern Region.

Meanwhile, 6 ministerial nominees were approved a day earlier.

The nominees, vetted by the Appointments Committee and confirmed, include Abla Dzifa Gomashie as Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, and Emelia Arthur as Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development.

 

Other appointments are George Opare Addo as Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Ahmed Ibrahim as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey as Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, and Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare as Minister for Trade, Industry, and Agribusiness.
