The Ho Airport is expected to begin operations soon as the contractor, Amandi Holding Limited, has finally completed all major construction works on the facility.
The project, which was scheduled for completion in September 2016, has a 1,900 meter runway, traffic control tower, 1,150 capacity passenger waiting area, an ultramodern airbus terminal and an automatic fire detection system.
The Minister of Aviation, Cecilia Dapaah who paid a working visit on Thursday April 19, 2018, to inspect the facility ahead of its commissioning expressed satisfaction at the work done by the contractors, Amandi Holding Limited.
She further urged the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to develop a business plan to market the airport.
Madam Dapaah was accompanied by the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa.
The airport, with the slogan, “Ho Airport, the New Destination†is expected to host domestic and commercial flights and open up the region for growth.
