Reports reaching primenewsghana indicate a Starbow flight has been involved in an accident at the Kotoka International Airport with one person injured.

According to the Ghana Airports Company limited, Starbow Airline flight S9, 104 bound for Kumasi skidded off the runway during its takeoff run.

The statement added that the aircraft was carrying 63 passengers and 5 crew.

One passenger has been sent to the hospital for treatment while others have been left traumatized.

It's suspected bad weather may have contributed to the plane skidding off the runway into a grassy field.

An official investigation is yet to be conducted to establish the actual cause of the accident.
