The Ghana Police Service has urged the public to disregard claims that a secret recruitment is ongoing at the Kumasi Police Training School in the Ashanti region.

According to a police statement, on Monday, September 2, 2024, a special operation was conducted in Kumasi, leading to the arrest of 487 suspects linked to the QNET Ponzi scheme.

Given the large number of suspects, the police used the Kumasi Police Training School as a temporary facility for screening and investigation.

"However, during the screening process, members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) reportedly stormed the training school, alleging that a covert recruitment exercise was in progress" the statement added.

After realising that no such recruitment was taking place, the group dispersed.

“We, therefore, urge the public to disregard the claim of the said secret recruitment exercise and treat it with the contempt it deserves,” it added.
