Police say missing CEO of NextGen Infraco found

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NextGen Infraco, Tony Mintah who was declared missing has been found.

Tony Mintah was declared missing earlier today, October 23, 2024 by the Ghana Police Service.

The Police indicated that the Chief Executive Officer, who is the supplier of Ghana’s 5G, was whisked away by unknown men from the Office of the National Communications Authority (NCA).

The latest development from the police is that Tony Mintah "has been found and further details will be provided shortly."

Meanwhile,  a brief statement from the Management of Next Gen Infraco (NGIC) expressed its sincere gratitude to the Police for their swift and professional response to the situation.

“We are pleased to inform the public that Mr. Mintah has been located and is safe. We also want to extend our appreciation to the general public for their support and cooperation during this time. Your vigilance and assistance were invaluable. Thank you once again to the authorities and the public for your continued efforts.”

On May 30, the government announced its plan to launch the 5G network within the next six months.

 

The rollout is expected to start on November 1, 2024, per statements made by the Communications Minister.
