President Akufo-Addo has ordered for a report on the latest interest payment of $3million by the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation, BOST to Springfield Energy.
According to report, the Managing Director of BOST, George Mensah Okley was asked to submit the report to the Presidency by 2 pm on Monday, September 10, 2018.
Edward Bawa had raised issues with how the BOST went ahead to pay an additional $3million to Springfield Energy in a dispute, against the advice of the company's legal counsel after Alfred Obeng exited as Managing Director.
According to the MP, the new Managing Director, George Mensah Oakley and head of Finance, John Kojo Akoful who is a former acting MD under whose tenure the dispute started have gone ahead and paid an additional $3 million against the advice of their legal counsel that Springfield does not deserve $9million as an interest payment.
Edward Bawa has therefore called for an interdiction of Okley and Akoful to allow for a full-scale investigation of the issues to ascertain the facts and a full audit of the systems at BOST to identify challenges and propose solutions to the challenges to forestall future occurrences.
