Nana Addo under pressure as chiefs reject his appointee

The Sunyani Traditional Council has rejected Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh who has been nominated by President Nana Akufo-Addo to serve as a Brong Ahafo Regional minister.

According to the Krontihene Nana Bofotia Boamposem of the Sunyani Traditional Council, they were not willing to work with Mr. Cheremeh because of some insolent attitude exhibited by Mr. Cheremeh towards the chiefs.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Programme, Nana Bofotia Boamposem said, Mr. Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh does not respect the chieftaincy institution and that after several calls by the Sunyani Traditional Council for a meeting, he stated categorically in a letter that he Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh will not kowtow to the council’s demand and that refusing to attend a chief’s call in no longer and offense.

Krontihene Nana Bofotia Boamposem also added that the Sunyani Traditional Council is not preventing Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh from assuming his appointment, but people of Sunyani are not part and never will they be under his leadership as Sunyani Regional Minister.
