The 2017 Ghana Education Summit has proposed for the implementation of a national research fund to help researchers in their field of work.
The summit which has brought together stakeholders all over Africa deliberated on the need for prominence to be given to research to shape policies in Africa.
Speaking at the Summit in Accra the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast Prof Joseph Ghartey Ampaih said research is very expensive and national funds should be allocated to help make good use of the research field.
“It is expensive to …….make sure that researchers are funded or motivated to take their research findings of the shelves bring it to the doorstep of policy makers and further ensure that they are discuss for possible adoption, our consideration for national research fund that has been proposed indeed it is long overdue policy makers must see the facility and provide funding and regulations..â€
