The five cars belonging to the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) National Organiser, Mr. Kofi Adams which was apprehended yesterday Wednesday February 1 2017, by National Security operatives have been returned.
A 15 fully armed soldiers and four National Security Operatives on Wednesday, purportedly went to the Tema Gulf City residence of NDC National Organiser and drove away three pickups and two Toyota Land cruiser vehicles owned by Mr. Adams himself to the Flagstaff House.
The operation led by a member of the NPP security force, Captain Tandoh saw the military officers going to the residence of the NDC 2016 Campaign Coordinator’s house , supposedly in such of stolen state cars, purported to have been hidden by officials of the NDC and erstwhile government appointees after the party lost power in the just ended 2016 general elections.
The February 1, 2017 seizure happened in the absence of Mr. Kof Adams who is reported to be in Dubai on a business trip.
However, Mr Kofi Adams in an interview on Radio Gold today February 2 2017 revealed that the National Security Minster, Mr Albert Kan Dapaah was swift in ensuring the cars were retuned in good condition.
“I think I must commend the National Security Minister, Mr Kan-Dapaah, for his intervention in this matter. He did call to indicate that it wasn’t something that was sanctioned officially, and, so, they have instructed that they return the vehicles immediately.â€
The NDC National Organiser emphasized that, Â it is commendable how the minister handled the matter.
“It is true that he spoke to me and I want to thank him. I think that is the way to go. He has assured that the appropriate punishment will be given to the officer who led that operation without authorisation.â€
