An Obstetrician with the Saint Elizabeth Hospital in the Asutifi District of the Brong Ahafo Region has advised husbands to shave their expectant wives.Â
Dr. Abraham Sunu said men should help their wives to prepare for safe and healthy delivery of babies.
He emphasized that during the final trimester of pregnancy most women are unable to reach the lower parts without assistance and therefore hinders their ability to shave the private parts, which sometimes makes them quite unkempt.
The Medical Doctor gave the advice at the 5th Anniversary of the “Visionary Menâ€, a men’s group within the Church of Praise International at Hwidiem.
The Anniversary was under the theme: “Help Women to Succeedâ€.
Dr. Sunu explained that “at a point in time during pregnancy, they [women] are not able to bend down and for that matter; they even are not able to shaveâ€.
“Due to this, they look unkempt when they visit hospitals, making health care for such people unbearableâ€, he explained.
Dr. Sunu said “let us [men] help our wives to prepare for safe and healthy deliveryâ€.
The programme aimed at equipping the men with awareness on family care and personal finances.
Others speakers took the men through personal finance and investment management.
