The Office of the Special Prosecutor has begun investigations into police recruitment in the country.
A statement from the office said: "they have commenced full investigations into suspected corruption and corruption-related offenses in respect of the recruitment exercise of Course 51 of Cadet Officers Training at the Ghana Police Academy."
The investigations target specific cases of alleged corruption and corruption-related offences of the use of office for profit, abuse of power, favoritism, nepotism, victimization, and the selection of unqualified persons.

The investigations come on the back of the arrest of 4 policemen in connection with bullion van robberies that recently occurred in the country.
A police statement revealed that another suspect believed to be a civilian was also arrested by the police while some other 5 civilian suspects have gone into hiding according to the police.
The police disclosed that a raid at Borteyman near Ashaiman, also led to the death of two other police officers during an exchange of gunshots.
The two, according to the police, had earlier been arrested in connection with the bullion van robberies.
The deceased officers are, Constable Randolph Ansah and Lance Corporal Stephen Kwaku Nyame.
The police in a statement signed by the Director-General of Public Relations, DCOP Kwesi Ofori, said the arrested officers have all been interdicted and will be put before court on Wednesday, 9th March 2022.
