The Human Rights division of the High Court has postponed the case involving the office of the Special Prosecutor and Mr Charles Bissue to April 17, 2024.

This postponement is due to the absence of a newly assigned judge following the retirement of Justice Nicholas Abodakpi, who previously presided over the case.

Originally adjourned on February 21 for similar reasons, the parties were notified during the court session on Monday, 11 March 2024, that a replacement judge had not yet been designated to handle the case.

The case centres on a judicial review application lodged by Mr Bissue.

His application seeks to challenge, among other things, an arrest warrant issued against him by the office of the Special Prosecutor, annul a notice declaring him wanted by the office, and prevent the anti-graft body from making additional arrests until the matter is resolved.
