The headmaster of St Augustine's College in the Central Region has been interdicted by the Ghana Education Service for charging unapproved and illegal fees from parents of wards.
Alex kyeremeh of the Education Service stated word got to them that the headmaster of the secondary school, Joseph Connel had set up a table where fresh students were made to pay 435.00 cedis each, branded as parent teacher levies before they could secure their admission letter.
Mr. Kyeremeh added an investigation has been initiated to ascertain why the school embarked on such a levy collection exercise without recourse to their superiors causing hardship for poor parents.
