TechnipFMC group through its subsidiaries in Ghana (Technip Ghana Limited, GNPC-Technip Engineering Services Limited and FMC Technologies) on Wednesday March 1, donated medical equipment and supplies to Kwesimintsim Hospital and Takoradi District Hospital, located in Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western region of Ghana.
The medical supplies and equipment donated are valued at 400,000 US Dollars and were acquired through Project C.U.R.E (Commission on Urgent Relief and Equipment) a U.S based non-profit organization, and shipped to Ghana with the assistance of TechnipFMC in Houston.
January 17, 2017, a strategic merger between two global leaders (Legacy Technip and Legacy FMC Technologies), with complementary expertise and solutions in the Oil and Gas Industry completed their merger transaction and came together to form TechnipFMC. The group has been operating through its affiliates in Ghana since 2009, with its headquarters in Houston, London and Paris. Capabilities of TechnipFMC in Ghana includes Engineering Services in Accra (GNPC-Technip Engineering Services Limited) as well as fabrication, assembly and testing facilities in Takoradi.
At the donation event, the Country Manager of TechnipFMC subsidiaries in Ghana, Mr. Gauthier Pourcelle, in his key note address to the staff of the hospitals indicated that, the donation was not only to improve the quality of service delivery and medical care at these hospitals, but also to further the company’s commitment to local community development. He also stated that it is top priority for the company to ensure that the health of the people in the communities in which the company operates are safeguarded, as well as upholding the company’s dedication to the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment.
TechnipFMC’s subsidiary, Technip Ghana Limited was awarded the OCPT-ORF (Onshore Receiving Facility) Project in November, 2016 by Eni Ghana Exploration & Production. The Onshore Receiving Facility (ORF) Project is an essential development for Ghana. The project site, located in Sanzule, will provide domestic gas supply to Ghana’s thermal power plants for more than 15 years and concurrently improve access to electricity for Ghana, generating significant revenues for its stakeholders.
A significant part of the engineering, 25%, will be delivered locally by GNPC-Technip Engineering Services ltd, as well as major construction scope will be handled by local indigenous Ghanaian companies,
