Lawyer and social commentator, Maurice Ampaw has supported the lady who bit the manhood of the Techiman Municipal Fire Commander who attempted to forcibly have sex with  her in room Saturday midnight.

The lady, only identified as Ataa, is a beneficiary of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) community fire module who is stationed at the Techiman Fire Service Office.

According to her, the commander, Philip Ansah, who had been pestering her for sex for sometime now visited her house on Saturday at about 12:20am under the pretext of bringing her some clothes to wash for him.

After entering the room, Mr Ansah took off the cloth covering her and started fondling her which she vehemently protested.

When her protests fell on deaf ears, she pretended to have given in upon which the commander undressed, sat on the bed and asked her to suck him.

During the sucking, Atta said, she mustered courage to bite the commander's manhood leading him to collapse after which she called the fire station who dispatched some personnel to come and pick him to the hospital.

Ataa's act has been widely criticised with many describing her as wicked and barbaric.

But according to Lawyer Ampaw, what Ataa did was reasonable self-defence and therefore there was no need for the police to charge her.

"There is no need to charge her. If anybody must be charged, it should be the commander. He should be charged for attempted rape", he stated.

Speaking on Peace FM's Midday News on Tuesday, he stated that Ataa must rather be praised for being able to stand up to her rapist and putting him in his right place.

"She is courageous and must be made an ambassador to teach women how to defend themselves against men like the Fire Commander", he said, adding that, "what happened to the commander must serve as deterrent to others like him.
