Heavy rains on Wednesday and Thursday in the Ashanti Region left devastation in its wake as Kumasi, the regional capital, and its environs were flooded.
The newly built Kejetia Market in Kumasi, along with properties running into thousands of Ghana Cedis were destroyed by the floods.
Kumasi faces a perennial flooding challenge and Thursday’s floods at the Kejetia Market and its environs are not new.
The central business district of Adum was not spared on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
Reports indicate that areas such as Anloga Junction, Dagomba Line, KNUST and Airport Roundabout all got flooded.
