The National Tripartite Committee, comprising the Government, employers, and organised labor/associations, has officially commenced negotiations on Ghana’s 2025 minimum Wage.
The discussions began on Monday, February 3, 2025, as announced by the Presidency’s Communications Office.
According to the statement, negotiations on base pay for public sector workers will follow after the minimum wage discussions.
The government noted that these wage talks are behind schedule, as they were originally expected to be completed by April 2024, in accordance with the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, urged all social partners—government, employers, and organised labor—to expedite the negotiation process to ensure timely adjustments before the 2025 Budget is finalised.
