The management of Accra Academy has identified the student found in a video flogging a colleague with a cutlass.

The video, which surfaced on social media, has caused alarm among parents and the general public.

A statement from the school said the incident happened some two weeks ago but it had to take the viral video on social media to draw the attention of the school’s management to it.

According to the statement, four students have been identified as perpetrators: Shadad Aliu, also known as Kester (Form 1), Haleem Jibril, a.k.a. Chopper (Form 3), Ahmed Dauda, a.k.a. Foreigner (Form 3), and Richard Ninsin, a.k.a. Poisonous (Form 3).

The victims include four Form 1 students: Samuel Ussher, Kingsford Quayson, Stephen Oteng, and Dominic Awuku Adjei.

Initial investigations revealed that the machete used in the bullying incident was brought from home by one of the perpetrators and was not obtained from the school premises.

One of the students, who was seen wielding the machete, has been handed over to the police for further interrogation.

Additionally, all students involved in the incident, who are day students, have been asked to stay away from school as the investigation continues.
