Ghana is today celebrating 62 years since gaining Independence from the British.
Ghana attained independence on 6th March 1957. It became the first country in West Africa to attain independence.
Since then the day is marked by a parade and a host of activities.
This is the first time the independence day celebration is being held outside Accra and is underway in Tamale.
