The CEO of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Dr. Clifford Braimah has revealed that there are no water tanker services for the people of Ho in terms of emergency.

According to him, because Ho is mostly adequate with the water supply from the Ghana Water Company no tanker service is being run in the municipality.

Speaking to the breakdown of a water pipeline at Akrofu in the municipality which has caused a shortage in the area for some days, Dr Clifford Braimah said, "There was a problem with one of our main lines that IS taking water from Kpeve to Ho, and it crosses a river that is the danger and we couldn't pump because the levels of the water gone very high there is no way we can put the pipe back on it normal route so they needed to put it on a bridge which is very old so it is a weak bridge, if you want to put that big size of pipe and the volume of water so if you want to get it on you need approval from Highways Authority, getting the approval is a problem we are hoping that between today and tomorrow it should be completed."

Responding to a question of whether or not an emergency system was in place to help solve the situation, the Ghana Water Company CEO said normally tanker services are used to help the situation but in the case of the Ho municipality, there are no such services forcing the people to leave days without water.

"Alternative would have been getting tankers to supply them with water and the closest treatment plant will be Kpando that's huge and Ghana Water Company has given out the work of tanker services to private people and unfortunately for us in Ho there are no tanker services, what it means is that there are adequate with our supply...
