Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Immigration Service(GIS), Francis Pam-Detty, has said the outfit will not hesitate to deport the Chinese lady, Asia Huang, facing persecution for flouting a ban on illegal mining.

Speaking to Accra-based Citi FM, Francis Pam-Detty made it clear, the Immigration Service would not drag its feet to deport the Chinese if there is overwhelming evidence that she has broken the country's laws.

"Her remand allows us to put evidence together and make sure we have enough evidence to arrive at a solution. We are currently dealing with four Chinese miners and Aisha and two of the Chinese men do not have their passports with them and we need that to establish their status in the country at the moment,"he explained.

The excuse of misplacing their passports he added is a trick of illegal employed but illegal miners when they are arrested. But the service would insist that they provide the necessary documentations for investigations to continue.

"If you do not have valid documentations or permit to reside in the country, then you are liable for deportation. There are other options like facing jail terms or revoking their permits,"he stated.

The Chinese lady is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
