Vice President Opoku-Agyemang thanks well-wishers after sudden illness

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has expressed sincere gratitude to Ghanaians for their thoughtful well-wishes following the official announcement of her illness and forthcoming treatment abroad.

The vice president stated that the sentiments shared by citizens and well-wishers deeply touched her.

“Likewise, I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind sentiments and well wishes this weekend.”

An official statement from the Presidency confirmed that the Vice President has undergone medical treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after experiencing a sudden illness on Friday, March 28, 2025.

A statement signed by the Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, confirmed that the Vice President had received initial treatment but would seek further medical care abroad based on expert recommendations.
