Samira Bawumia, second lady of the Republic of Ghana has disclosed that her way of dressing is geared towards growing the local businesses in Ghana.
Wife of the Vice President, Samira Bawumia is of the conviction that, she dresses the way she does because of the love she has for Ghana-made materials, and the designs.
Speaking on Starr FM’s Morning Starr when she hosted the show to mark this year’s International Women’s Day, Samira Bawumia said she speaks less on her dresses because she always wants to be herself and also promote some Ghanaian fabrics and local styles.
“I don't try to say anything with my fashion. I just want to be me. It is an expression of me but it is also a celebration of the talents we have in Ghana. Most of what I wear is made in Ghana and they are exquisite designs that our Ghanaians make. And the people who make clothes for me have seen their businesses booming. So, for me, it’s also supporting the industry and showcasing Ghanaian fabrics, talents and boosting the industry,†she said.
Samira Bawumia’s sense of fashion once again sparked a lot of talks in the media especially Social Media during the 61st Ghana Independence Anniversary Celebration parade at the Black Star Square.
