An International Research and data firm, Fitch Solutions, has predicted a win for John Mahama and the NDC in the 2024 general elections in December.
According to the London-based company, which has stuck to its prediction since last year, 54% of survey participants said the former president would win the next presidential election.
The present status of the economy will be a major factor in the decisions made by voters on December 7, according to Fitch Solutions’ mid-year analysis for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Associate Director of Country Risk at Fitch Solutions Mike Kruiniger stated,“We believe that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has a stronger chance of winning the upcoming general elections compared to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“In addition, multiple surveys have shown that economic management and job creation are going to be the most important issues during the election for voters which we believe will put the ruling NPP at a disadvantage given the economic challenges that the country has faced over the last couple of years.”
“Recent polls consistently place the NDC ahead with the most recent survey showing 54% of respondents favouring the NDC,” he stated.
