The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama cast his ballot at the Bole D/A Polling Station in the Savannah Region.

He voted around midday.

Speaking to the media after voting, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer shared his optimism about the outcome.

“I am confident that Ghanaians will give me the opportunity to serve again. I trust in the democratic process and believe in the choice of the people,” he said.

Mahama also urged Ghanaians to turn out in large numbers to exercise their civic rights and called for a peaceful, free, and transparent election, underscoring Ghana’s commitment to democratic values.

Mahama took a moment to visit his father's grave in Bole-Bamboi, offering prayers before casting his vote in the ongoing elections.

The solemn visit, steeped in tradition, was a reflection of Mahama's cultural values and personal beliefs.

Speaking to the press after the heartfelt gesture, Mahama explained that turning to one's ancestors in prayer is an essential part of his heritage, particularly during moments of uncertainty.

"In times of anxiety, seeking guidance and strength from our ancestors is a meaningful tradition," Mahama shared, emphasizing his deep connection to his roots.

For him, the visit was not only a personal act of reverence but also a way to honor his family's legacy. It resonated with many, underscoring the significance of cultural practices even amid a hectic political life.

After his prayers, Mahama joined other voters in the Bole-Bamboi constituency to exercise his democratic right.
