2024 elections: NDC's Fiifi Buckman defeats Prince Hamid Armah to win Kwesimintsim seat

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region, Dr Prince Hamid Armah has lost his seat to the National Democratic Congress' Philip Fiifi Buckman.

Dr Armah, the current Deputy Minister for Works and Housing who once served as the Director General of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), polled 13, 317 votes as against Mr Fiifi Buckman's 15,927 votes.

An independent parliamentary candidate polled 1,835 votes. The total valid votes cast is 31,079 with 219 rejected ballots.

Elsewhwere Member of Parliament for Assin North, James Gyakye Quayson, has retained the seat for the National Democratic Congress.

Mr Quayson garnered 18,023 votes, while the NPP’s candidate Charles Opoku had 13,599 votes.
