Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, has asked the people of the Ashanti region to give the NPP 85 per cent of their votes come December.

The NPP running mate who is also known as Nana Poku (NAPO) is confident the party will emerge victorious if the party gets a whooping majority of the votes cast in the Ashanti region, which is the stronghold of the NPP.

Speaking at the Kumasi Jubilee Park Tuesday, July 09, 2024, during his official unveiling as the running mate to Dr. Bawumia, he advised the party faithful not to give their votes to anyone even if there is misunderstanding amongst them.

He cautioned against sitting aloof and allowing the opposition to flip power from them due to some misunderstanding between them.

He called for unity amongst them to ensure their vision of ‘breaking the 8’ becomes a reality.

Meanwhile, President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo reiterated his optimism of the two candidates winning the elections for the NPP. He described Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the best Vice President the nation has ever had.

During his speech he said he was the best person to testify about the Vice President and his running mate having worked with them both for long.

He said the NPP flag bearer is “honest, loyal, straightforward, hardworking and if there is anyone who can testify about Bawumia, and Dr. Opoku Prempeh, it is me. I know he will deliver.”
