The Police Criminal Investigations Department has described as baseless and without credibility allegation of corruption levelled against two Deputy Chiefs of Staff by Kwame Asare Obeng alias A Plus

The artist, an activist of the NPP, in three different Facebook posts accused Francis Asenso-Boakye and Samuel Jinapor of using their office for inappropriate financial conduct.

He subsequently questioned the rationale for President Akufo-Addo’s appointment of the two, who in his wisdom,  are unfit to hold their positions. President Akufoo-Addo subsequently ordered investigations into the matter and called on both A Plus and the two to be investigated.

A release from the CID issued on Monday said the artist denied ever accusing the two of not only receiving money or being accessories to bribery but insisted the issue of corruption allegation is true.

According to the police, the musician accused the two of interfering in the running of Korle Bu Teaching hospital and, to his mind, felt they were bringing undue pressure onto the current management.

But investigators said the into got involved in the Korle Bu issue on the basis of public interest and that does not amount to corruption

The allegation was therefore thrown out because it lacks credibility and could not be substantiated.
